Co-operative relaunches healthy eating range
The Co-operative Food is re-launching its own-brand healthy eating range.
Rolling out into stores from April 2013, the Good Life range will replace The Co-operative’s Healthier Choice and Naturally Healthy product ranges.
The Co-operative said the range had been developed with strict guidelines for calories, sugar, salt and fat, with clear front of pack traffic light labelling to make it easier for customers to identify healthier options in store.
Kate Jones, head of product development at The Co-operative Food, explained: "Healthy eating habits have changed - our shoppers don’t want diet products that they feel are inferior or second best, they want a more rounded, well balanced and healthier lifestyle all year round. The new Good Life range reflects this ethos - the products are good for you, and the messages on pack make it easy for shoppers to see if a product is one of their 5-a-day, high in fibre or low in fat.
"Shoppers also want products that are naturally healthy - and the Good Life range will highlight these lines, too. This new range will provide customers with delicious, affordable products focusing on a healthier lifestyle without compromising on taste and quality."
The range will include cereals and yogurts, sandwiches and salads, ready meals and prepared fruit. Products will also include skinless chicken breasts and fresh fish.
