Co-op serves up trio of food stores in Worcester
The Co-op is opening a trio of food stores in the Worcester area over a period of two weeks following a £2.25 million investment.
The retailer has opened a new store in Honeybourne which will include an in-store bakery and Costa coffee dispenser. In addition, the Co-op’s 8,500 square foot store in Pershore’s Racecourse Road will re-open on 6 April following a £1.1 million makeover.
The two stores follow the launch of a new Co-op store on Worcester’s Barker Street on 22 March .
Guy Wimhurst, regional manager for the Co-op’s large store formats, said: “We are investing in our people, stores, products, prices and communities – our ambition is for our stores to be at the heart of local life, bringing communities together and offering great quality products when and where shoppers need them.”
Earlier this year, the Co-op unveiled a £50 million price investment programme to cut the cost of everyday essentials including fruit, vegetables, bread, fresh meat and ready meals, as well as household brand names.
