Conviviality chief executive steps down
Bargain Booze owner Conviviality has announced that its chief executive, Diana Hunter, has stepped down.
In a statement, the company said she will remain with the company for a period to provide some transitional support to non-executive chairman David Adams, who will take on the chief executive role “until further notice”.
Last week, Conviviality revealed that it had discovered an unexpected £30 million tax bill due for payment to HMRC by 29 March that was not accounted for in its short-term cash flow projections. This led the company to issue a second profit warning in the space of a week.
This week the company said it is continuing to engage with stakeholders regarding the situation and will provide a further update “in due course”.
