Coast appoints Kate Bostock as chief executive
Womens occasion wear retailer Coast has appointed Kate Bostock, the former head of clothing at Marks & Spencer, as its new chief executive.
Bostock will join the business in September and will work closely with chairman Derek Lovelock and the senior management team on developing Coast as an international omni-channel standalone brand.
Lovelock said: “I have known Kate for a number of years and am extremely excited by her joining Coast. Kate has a natural affinity with the brand and is the perfect choice for us. Her experience in meeting customers’ demands and in product development, allied with her expertise at leading teams and implementing strategic plans will be invaluable to Coast.”
Bostock added: “I am thrilled to be joining Coast, a brand that I love. It has a unique proposition with huge potential for the future both in the UK and internationally, as well as a very successful online channel. I see a real opportunity to broaden the brand’s offering to appeal to women of all ages who want to find the perfect outfit for any occasion.”
Last month, Bostock resigned as executive director of product and trading at online fashion retailer Asos after just seven months with the business. At the time, chief executive Nick Robertson said the appointment had “not worked out” while Bostock said that she had concluded that Asos was “not the right place for me”.
