Charles Tyrwhitt to open second store in Scotland

Shirtmaker Charles Tyrwhitt is to open as a second store in Scotland following the success of its Edinburgh outlet which opened last year.

The new store, located in Buchanan Street in Glasgow, will open on 8 November and create around a dozen new jobs.

It brings the total number of Charles Tyrwhitt stores to 20, with flagship outlets in Jermyn Street London, Washington and Madison Avenue New York.

Founder Nick Wheeler said: “Our aim is to open a small number of prestigious stores in the very best locations. We don’t want to have a store on every street. We just want to be the best shirt-maker.

“We are delighted to be opening on Buchanan Street which is one of the busiest shopping streets I’ve ever come across. Given the success of our Edinburgh store, we have high hopes for Glasgow!”
