Carphone Warehouse retail director steps down
Carphone Warehouses retail director Anthony Hemmerdinger has stepped down just over a year after joining the business.
A spokesperson for Carphone Warehouse said Hemmerdinger had received 'an offer he could not refuse' from another company and will take up his new position in the New Year.
Hemmerdinger, who previously worked at Sainsbury’s, was responsible for running Carphone Warehouse's 800+ stores.
Carphone Warehouse UK MD Matt Stringer said: "Anthony has been a true shopkeeper, integral in leading a very high quality retail function that has achieved unsurpassed levels of customer service and operational control. He has built a cohesive and committed leadership team and enjoyed a high degree of respect and affection from colleagues in stores. His ability to interpret retail needs for support functions positively influenced the planning and delivery of propositions."
Carphone Warehouse said it will announce details of Hemmerdinger’s successor in the coming weeks.
