Butlers to launch UK e-commerce website
Working with software solutions provider Demandwear, the retailer introduced new websites in Germany and Austria in September.
Jörg Arndt, managing director at Butlers said: "Our top priority is to provide our customers with a great shopping experience.
"With the launch of our new ecommerce sites in Germany and Austria, our goal is to improve performance and scalability so that we can make our online shops faster, more efficient and user friendly."
Enhancements to the sites include a "quick-order system" to allow in-store staff to order out-of-stock items for delivery to the customer's home, and a custom configurator that enables customers to personalise items when ordering.
Butlers first entered the UK market in 2005 with plans to invest £12 million in up to 80 stores. However, the retailer was forced to withdraw due to higher than anticipated retail costs and now operates four stores in the UK.
The company has a total of 150 stores in Germany and Europe employs over 650 people.
