Brown Thomas to invest up to 9 million in store refurbishment
Irish department store group Brown Thomas is to invest up to 9 million in refurbishing the ground floor of its flagship store in Dublin.
The revamp will include a new beauty hall and a refit of the accessories department.
Brown Thomas managing director Stephen Sealey told The Irish Times: “It will refresh the ground floor and give it a lift and add to the offering in the store.”
The retailer is also planning to spend around €850,000 on expanding its website next year to include handbags, shoes and selected fashion items. Sealey added: “Our aim is to have about 50% of the store available online by the middle of next year.”
Brown Thomas launched its first e-commerce website in the autumn of this year with an initial focus on beauty products. Other plans include the launch of a click and collect service.
Brown Thomas operates four department stores across Ireland.
