B&Q fires Autumn pricing salvo
Consumers improving instead of moving.
B&Q is launching its biggest ever Autumn price investment campaign to help customers get their homes and gardens ready for winter.The move is set to save customers over £20 million this Autumn.The retailer has already invested £25 million in pricing campaigns since Easter this year.
Euan Sutherland, CEO B&Q and Kingfisher UK, says: “This is B&Q’s biggest ever Autumn price investment – at this time of year customers are getting their homes and gardens ready for winter and we want to make this as affordable as possible. We’re seeing more and more people across the UK improving instead of moving - DIY is cool again.” 2009 has seen a definite trend back towards DIY inside and outside the home with recent figures released by B&Q showing that from February to August sales of designer wallpaper were up 15 per cent year on year, sales of vegetable plants up 68 per cent, rolls of turf up 30 per cent and paint up over 10 per cent.
