Boyes achieves record profits
Value retailer Boyes has reported that it made record profits of £4.51 million in the year to 28 January 2012.
The company increased its profits from £3.91 million in the previous year and also raised its turnover from £59.9 million to £63.4 million.
Boyes operates 40 stores across the North and Midlands and earlier this year expanded into southern England with the opening of a new store in March, Cambridgeshire.
In results filed at Companies House, chairman Andrew Boyes paid tribute to Paul Boyes, grandson of the company’s founder, who died in August last year after working for the business for 67 years.
Boyes said: "Always fun to be with, Paul made a long and extremely valuable contribution to the company’s success and will be greatly missed."
