Aurora Fashions to sell stake in Bastyan

Aurora Fashions is to sell its stake in the Bastyan womenswear label as it looks to drive wholesale expansion.

The retail group which owns the Oasis, Coast and Warehouse fashion chains, has appointed accountancy firm BDO to find new investors for the brand which was launched two years ago.  The brand is sold online through the Bastyan website as well as via department stores such as House of Fraser and John Lewis.

Derek Lovelock, the chairman of Aurora, said: "As the brand is becoming more successful, demand from abroad is very much for the wholesale ranges. We accept that the time is now right to look for an owner better placed in the wholesale arena to support future growth."
