The Association of Town Centre Management, the organisation which is providing much of the support package for Town Teams announced by Local Growth Minister Mark Prisk, is hosting a free event for all town team members in Birmingham tomorrow.
The "World Café of Ideas" event, for which there are still a few places available, aims to share ideas for improving town and city centres throughout England as part of the ATCM’s on-going programme to help revitalise town centres across the country.
Participants will be invited to share best practice and find solutions for their town centres through a range master classes and surgeries offering advice and guidance on addressing the economic, social and environmental issues affecting town centres. The event will bring together speakers covering a range of town centre issues, including parking, footfall, the evening economy and pop up shops.
The ATCM said that seven special advisors have started working across the country with individual teams, providing support, one-to-one mentoring and other advice to Town Teams.
ATCM Town Team project manager Toyubur Rahman added: "The World Café event will be an one-day coming together of teams and advisors, with master class sessions, keynote talks, exhibitions and surgeries that town team partners can dip into and out of to learn the best approaches for their specific towns and locations, we want the coffee and conversations to flow all day!"
