Asda names Alex Russo as new CFO
Supermarket giant Asda has appointed Alex Russo as its new chief financial officer.
Russo will succeed Richard Mayfield who is leaving Asda to join parent company Walmart as chief financial officer for the EMEA region.
Having previously held senior roles at Tesco, Kingfisher and Boots, including chief financial officer for Tesco's South Korean business, Russo will join Asda on 6 January from Peruvian restaurant franchise specialist Delosi.
Asda president and chief executive Andy Clarke said: “Richard has left the business in great shape for the future and together we have developed a strategy which will see Asda redefine value retailing in the UK over the next five years.
“With a strong pedigree as an international retail leader, Alex is a great addition to the Asda team. He will play a crucial role in delivering our new strategic priorities.”
