Asda appoints new chief merchandising officer and food trading director
George clothing managing director Andrew Moore has been appointed as AsdaÂ’s chief merchandising officer.
In his new role, Moore will be responsible for general merchandise at Asda while also retaining his remit for George which has thrived under his leadership.
Moore succeeds Charles Redfield who will leave Asda at the end of May. Redfield joined the supermarket in 2010 from Walmart’s Sam’s Club in the US.
Asda’s category director Barry Williams will take over Redfield’s grocery responsibilities as trading director for food.
