American Golf appoints Trudy Hills as trading director
In her new role, Hills will lead the buying and marketing functions of the multi-channel golf equipment retailer, overseeing a team of 15.
Hills began her career at Procter & Gamble and went on to hold a number of senior positions in the retail sector, including general manager of health, beauty and babycare at Asda, buying director at Pets at Home and most recently category controller for frozen and chilled at Iceland Foods.
Kevin Styles, American Golf’s chief executive said: “Trudy’s appointment adds real value to our management team as we continue to expand the business. She has an impressive track record in retail and that experience will be pivotal in enhancing our product offering.”
Hills added: “American Golf’s mission is to improve its customer’s game, and everyone in the business is focused on that goal. I look forward to bringing that energy and passion into my role and ensure that we combine the best product with the best prices, and then support our customers in-store with expert advice.”
American Golf was founded in the late 1970s by brothers Howard and Robert Bilton with a single store in Ashton in Makerfield. The business now has a portfolio of 103 stores across the UK and annual sales of £133 million.
