Amazon teams up with Twitter on basket link
Online retail giant Amazon has launched a new feature which enables Twitter users to instantly add items to their shopping carts without leaving the social media platform.
To use the service, users need to link their Amazon.com account with their Twitter account. They can then add items to the shopping cart by replying to tweets containing an Amazon product link with the hashtag #amazonbasket. In the US, customers use the hashtag #amazoncart.
However, users still need to complete the purchase on Amazon’s website.
Amazon said the tie-up would make it simpler for Twitter users to purchase products they saw on their Twitter feed. In a video the company said: “No more switching apps, typing passwords, or trying to remember items you saw on Twitter."
