Amazon deny cyber attack
The company says that website disruption over the weekend was due to technical issues
A statement from an Amazon spokesperson revealed that there was a “brief interruption” to the business’s European retail sites in the UK, France, Germany and Italy because of “a hardware failure in our European data centre network”.
They added that there was no distributed denial of service (DDoS) attempt by pro-WikiLeaks online movements such as Anonymous, which targeted Mastercard, Visa and PayPal at different stages last week.
