Alliance UniChem in talks with Northern Ireland chain

Bairds Chemists in pharmacy group’s sights
Alliance UniChem has confirmed that it is in ‘advanced’ talks over the potential acquisition of the Bairds Chemists chain in Northern Ireland.
The European pharmacy retail and wholesale group, which opeates the Moss Pharmacy chain in the UK, said that Alliance Pharmacy, its UK retail business, “is in advanced discussions with Bairds Chemists”, which may or may not lead to an acquisition.
Bairds operates 50 pharmacies across Northern Ireland. Alliance added that “a further announcement will be made in due course.”
