AGA reports uplift in sales as it launches London store
AGA said order intake rose by 6% in the period, adding that group sales and orders have continued to improve although markets remain variable.
In statement AGA said: “May was quiet but June was strong. The strength of sterling impacts us. A strengthening UK housing market is clearly a positive factor and this has fed through slowly into increases in spending on cookers.”
William McGrath, AGA chief executive, added: "We are making good progress with our strategic and operational plans for our improving cooker markets.”
AGA used the new shop to launch its new AGA City60 model, which is designed for “City living”, as it looks to cater for different areas of the housing market, including apartments and terraced houses.
McGrath said: "The AGA City60 is a breakout product reaching a wider customer base and we are focused on taking the opportunities that provides."
