Wickes appoints Jeff Brazier as wellbeing ambassador

Home improvement retailer Wickes has appointed TV presenter Jeff Brazier as its wellbeing ambassador for 2023.

As a trained life coach and grief counsellor, Brazier will work with Wickes to develop and launch new initiatives that will help both staff and customers. This will involve creating a series of coaching content and supporting ongoing wellbeing-focused staff events throughout the year.

Wickes has kicked off the partnership by sponsoring the latest series of Brazier’s podcast – Only Human, which explores all things mental health and includes the star discussing his own challenges in the hope of helping listeners with their issues,

Sonia Astill, chief people officer at Wickes, said: “We’re proud of the fantastic resources we offer to better the wellbeing of those that work and use our stores every day, but we know there is always more that can be done. At Wickes, we value the importance of investing in the improvement of wellbeing and mental welfare, so we’re delighted to welcome Jeff on board to help us continue our commitment to providing a positive environment to both work and shop.”

Brazier will also be working to raise awareness of the current wellbeing staff initiatives offered by Wickes.

Brazier added: “It’s my absolute privilege to be a wellbeing ambassador for Wickes. I always question how I can do more to promote connectedness and self-awareness, and Wickes as a brand holds values that are very much aligned with my own which makes this a partnership I’m excited to develop. I’m looking forward to working closely with Wickes colleagues and customers and exploring their own stories around wellness and mental health.”
