ScS re-opens 80 stores in England

ScS has re-opened 80 of its stores in England after introducing new Covid-19 health and safety measures to protect customers and staff.

The furniture retailer’s distribution network has also begun re-operating to enable it to start making customer deliveries.

In line with government guidance, the company’s distribution networks and 19 stores  in Wales and Scotland have remain closed.

ScS has also given an update on its finances after previously announcing that it drew down £12 million from its revolving credit facility on 17 March. In today’s statement, the company said it has continued to review and reduce cash expenditure to protect its short term liquidity and is also continuing to evaluate its capital expenditure plans.

Looking ahead, ScS said : “Whilst it is too early to provide clarity on the outlook for the weeks and months ahead, the group is pleased to have reached this key milestone.

“ScS is a resilient business, with a strong balance sheet, coupled with a flexible cost base, and is well positioned to navigate this event and return to growth when the economy recovers.”
