Harveys and Bensons appoint creative director

Harveys and Bensons for Beds have strengthened their senior leadership team with the appointment of Alison Hill to the newly created role of creative director.

Reporting to Harveys’ managing director Kalwant Singh, Hill will mainly focus on the furniture brand whilst also supporting the Bensons business. This will involve playing a key part in changing the perception of both brands to make them more attractive to a younger and more style-conscious demographic. Her work will also cover developing creative collections and ensuring that both brands are on the front foot with regard to trends.

Hill’s most recent role was creative director at DFS where she was part of the team responsible for the launch of the first upholstery range for lifestyle brand Joules. Her previous experience also includes being head of brand and product development at Conran Holdings and five years as head of design at Debenhams.

Singh said: “We’re delighted to have Alison on board, and feel her extensive experience working across big retailers and realising a creative vision will prove invaluable.”
