Flooring Superstore opens first London shop

Flooring Superstore has opened its first store in London and 20th in the UK.

The 3,500 square foot shop at Staples Corner Retail Park in Brent Cross stocks a wide range of carpets, vinyl, laminate, real wood, luxury vinyl tiles and artificial grass.

The shop was officially opened by Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Neil Jones.

Flooring Superstore regional manager Ian Robinson said: “Flooring Superstore only began trading in 2012 and then we were purely an online brand. Now, we have 20 physical stores stretching the length of the United Kingdom, but until this point we didn’t have a presence in the capital, so we are delighted to have finally been able to open a store in London.”

Despite the effect of the Covid-19 crisis, the retailer is pressing ahead with its expansion plans. It closed all its stores during lockdown but continued to trade online. It then experienced one of its busiest periods ever as people spent more time carrying out home improvements.

Looking ahead, Robinson added: “We have been opening an average of over two stores a year since 2012, and more are planned throughout the rest of 2020 and into 2021. We’re committed to supporting the UK retail economy and in particular the areas where we have a presence, investing in these areas and creating jobs for local people.”
