Holland & Barrett rolls out new store concept to further stores

Holland & Barrett has rolled out its new store design to shops in Angel Islington and Hemel Hempstead.

The move follows the launch of a new concept store in Chelmsford in July.

While the Angel store has moved from its previous location in the district to a bigger space on Upper Street, the existing Hemel Hempstead store has been given a complete refurbishment.

The new stores have a strong focus on sustainability with everything from shelving, shop fittings and lighting being redesigned to be more efficient, reduce energy consumption and cut carbon emissions.

In addition to buying health and wellness products, customers at Angel will be able to top up on everyday food essentials at the shop’s new zero-waste refill station, while free water refills will also be available for plastic-conscious shoppers. The shop will sell almost 1,000 new products across food, beauty, vitamins, minerals, herbals and supplements and sports as part of a 3,800 product range.

Meanwhile, the Hemel Hempstead store will launch over 300 new clean and conscious beauty products and have an improved store layout and design.

Anthony Houghton, group retail and property director at Holland & Barrett, said: “Our new store design is a much calmer environment with a significantly improved layout and navigation to help customers access the wellness products they need more easily.

“Since launching our first ever concept store in Chelmsford back in July, we have been keen to roll out some of the exciting store features, such as Manuka and specialist honey displays, zero waste refills, and the new brand look and feel to our wider store estate. Both sites will give local residents even better access to health and wellness knowledge and expertise on their high street.”
