Mothercare’s Mark Newton-Jones steps down as executive director

Mothercare has announced that Mark Newton-Jones has now stepped down as an executive director of the business, although he will continue to serve as a non-executive director subject to his re-election at the company’s next AGM.

The mother and baby products retailer said back in January that he had relinquished his role as chief executive as part of a number of management changes but would stay on as executive director until July.

In statement on Friday, Mothercare chairman Clive Whiley said: “I would like to thank Mark for his contribution to the business over what has proved to be a turbulent period and I am delighted that we will be able to call upon his retail experience as we go forward.”
