Midcounties Co-operative opens new look food store

The Midcounties Co-operative has opened a new look food store in Stourport following a major renovation.

The Lombard Street store was officially reopened by Stourport mayor Councillor Ken Henderson.

Following a £1.2 million investment and a 17-week renovation project, the floor-to-ceiling transformation has included the introduction of new facilities and services to create a ‘village under one roof’. The store now features a Post Office, Coffee Republic café, and Co-operative Healthcare and Co-operative Travel branches.

In addition to its fresh new look, the store has increased its product range by introducing 400 new products from Worcestershire and neighbouring counties. Specialist experts in areas such as meat, fish, deli, bakery and beers, wines and spirits will be on hand in-store to provide information and recommendations.

Dean Marchant, manager of the Midcounties Co-operative Food in Stourport, said: “As we’re based in the heart of the community, we’re committed to investing in Stourport and providing brand new services for our customers to enjoy.

“We were inspired by the ‘village under one roof’ approach, where customers can catch up with friends over coffee, pick up their prescriptions or even book a holiday all while doing their weekly grocery shop.”
