Green bid for Allders denied

Minerva says no approach has been made
June 7 2002
Property company Minerva has denied that is planning a bid for Allders to be fronted by Bhs chief executive Terry Green.

Minerva said no approach has been received from Green, and there was no truth in the report, which appeared in The Guardian. Minerva has been gradually upping its stake in Allders in recent months, now holding just over 21 per cent of shares in the department store group.
Green’s experience at the helm of Debenhams would make him a logical frontman for an Allders bid. Since it was announced he will be leaving Bhs following a rejected MBO, various press reports have linked him to bids for Rubicon, Mothercare and Brown & Jackson.
