Gadget Shop bans rubbish presents

Brand building campaign for gift retailer
November 23 2002
Gadget Shop is using Christmas to launch a major brand building campaign for its gift offer.

Activity includes a national press advertising campaign, in-store POS and on-line marketing activity. All of the elements will work together to support the company’s 48 UK stores as well as the gadgetshop.com online gifts service over the key Christmas period.
This is the first time Gadget Shop has advertised nationally, with the company believing the time is right to consolidate its dominance in the market.
Coltas, retail agency of the year for the past three years, along with new media agency itsnotrocketscience, has developed a campaign which prompts customers to ‘Use Our Imagination’ and go to Gadget Shop for innovative, quirky gifts instead of buying rubbish presents.
Executive chairman Chris Gorman said: “Gadget Shop brand is now so strong that advertising will continue to build our position in the marketplace. We have high growth sales targets for the key Christmas period and having worked with Coltas in the past I am confident that they can deliver on our objectives.”
