DFS appoints Currys CFO as non-executive director

DFS has appointed Currys chief financial officer Bruce Marsh as a non-executive director.

When he takes up his role on 1 August, he will also become a member of the audit, remuneration and nomination committees.

Prior to joining Currys in July 2021, Marsh worked with Tesco for over  six years as finance director for its UK and Irish business.

Prior to that, he held senior positions at Kingfisher and Dixons.

In a statement, DFS highlighted his record of successfully delivering large complex business transformations.

Steve Johnson, DFS chairman said, “His significant retail experience as the CFO of Curry’s PLC is directly relevant to the  DFS’s  strategy.

“His extensive experience leading finance teams, maintaining robust financial controls and improving planning and performance, for “big ticket item” retailers will bring valuable experience and insight to the board.”

DFS has also announced that Loraine Martins has decided to step as a non-executive director on  31 July.

Johnson added: “Loraine has used her considerable experience in equality, diversity, and inclusivity in supporting the company’s people strategy. On behalf of the entire board and the company, I wish her the very best.”
