Debenhams rolls out Doddle click and collect service across all UK stores

Debenhams is to roll out a Doddle click and collect service across all of its UK department stores following a trial scheme in 50 shops.

With the service going live in the majority of Debenhams’ 165 stores by spring 2019, it will offer customers the chance to collect and return parcels from over 50 Doddle retail partners including ASOS, Amazon, Missguided and Wiggle at any Debenhams store.

The partnership is part of Debenhams’ strategy to offer an enhanced in-store experience to customers through a redesigned service model. The service will also help to drive new customers into its stores.

Debenhams said over 150,000 Doddle customers chose its stores to make their collection or return using the service during the trial. In addition, almost a third of those customers went on to make in-store purchases with an average basket value of £25. Furthermore, some 40% of tracked transactions made by Doddle customers were made by individuals who had not purchased items in a Debenhams store before.

Ross Clemmow, managing director of retail, food, digital and events at Debenhams, said: “Thanks to this ground-breaking partnership, customers now have the convenience of being able to collect and return their online shopping from over 50 retailers from Debenhams at the same time as discovering our re-imagined shopping experience.

“The fact that the partnership has driven six figure parcel volumes within the first few months of trial provides testimony to the fact that together we’re providing a service UK consumers really value.”
