Carl Friedrik opens first physical store

Premium travel goods brand Carl Friedrik has chosen London’s Regent Street for the opening of its first physical store.

Designed by interior designer, Tabitha Isobel, the store has a gallery like feel and features original 19th-century heritage details as well as materials used in the brand’s collections.

Instead of tills, shop assistants are on hand to place orders via handheld devices which are then brought up to customers or delivered directly to their homes. The store also features a dedicated lounge area furnished with mid-century and post-modern pieces to encourage customers to relax and immerse themselves in the brand’s world of travel.

Launched in 2013 with a small initial investment, Carl Friedrik reached a significant milestone this year with the raising of £1 million through a customer-led angel round. The sum will fund further investment in design and development, manufacturing and retail.

Carl Friedrik co-founder Mattis Oppermann said: ‘The launch of our first physical and flagship store has been a goal for many years. We have worked through a meticulous design process to reflect our ethos of quality and timelessness. It’s an exciting time for the brand and our customers alike.”
