Waitrose launches gin tasting experience

Waitrose has launched a new gin tasting experience where customers and their guests can enjoy five different gins without leaving the comfort of their home.

Called ‘Gin O’ Clock and lasting two hours, the experiences are led by Waitrose’s gin specialists either in the customer’s own home, hired accommodation, an office or events space.

The tasting includes five types of gin, including a pink pepper and sloe gin, paired with a variety of Fever-Tree tonics. The specialists will also explain the history of gin and demonstrate the art behind getting the perfect blend of botanicals using a pestle and mortar. Customers will also be shown how to make the perfect G&T.

The service is available across the majority of the UK with bookings available from 1 May. The experience is priced at £400 and can be for 6 to 10 people.

Andrew Riding, drinks experience manager at Waitrose Wine Tasting at Home, said: “Britain is having a great love affair with gin at the moment and we are excited to either teach fans more about their favourite drink or introduce the world of gin to newcomers.”
