Tesco and Carrefour alliance to become operational in October
Tesco has formally entered into a long-term, strategic alliance with French retail giant Carrefour.
The UK supermarket announced last month that it would be teaming up with Carrefour in an alliance covering the relationship with suppliers, the joint purchasing of own brand products, and goods not for resale. It will be governed by a three-year operational framework.
At the time, the companies said it will help them to improve product quality and choice for shoppers and to offer “even lower prices”. The two businesses will continue to work with supplier partners both locally and at a national level.
The alliance is expected to become operational in October 2018.
