M&S strengthens food operations team with appointment of head of business improvement
M&S has announced that it has strengthened its food operations team with the appointment of Matt Featherstone as head of business improvement.
In a statement, the retailer said the move will help to accelerate transformation in the food business.
With extensive operational and transformation experience, Featherstone previously worked for 27 years at Asda where he served in a variety of senior roles. Most recently, he was senior manager for strategy and transformation / end-to-end operating model at the supermarket.
In his new position, he will be accountable for delivering M&S Foods transformation through innovation and technology. Having joined M&S in March, he has spent his induction period working in store to get to know the business and to enable him to accelerate operational transformation.
The news follows the recent appointment of Andrew Hicks as marketing director of M&S Food. He will join the retailer on 1 September.
Meanwhile, Kevin Bennett has begun working in his new role at M&S as food logistics director and Gist chief executive.
