Merchant Gourmet to be acquired by Premier Foods
Premier Foods has agreed to acquire the Merchant Gourmet brand as part of its ongoing growth strategy.
The brand offers premium and healthy branded ready-to-eat pulses and grains, microwaveable rice and meals that are available in various stores as well as via its own website.
It is expected to deliver revenues of around £28 million in the year to 28 March 2026 and has experienced strong double-digit growth over the last two years

Founded in 1995, Merchant Gourmet was created with the aim of bringing restaurant-quality ingredients into everyday home cooking.

The transaction is expected to complete on 1 September 2025.
