Berry Bros. & Rudd increases stake in Anchor Distilling Company

Wine and spirit merchant Berry Bros. & Rudd has increased its shareholding stake in Anchor Distilling Company

Together with Tony Foglio, the family-owned merchant has purchased co-owner Keith Greggor’s shares in the San Francisco based premium craft spirits business.

The news follows the recent announcement regarding the sale of the brewing arm of Anchor Brewers & Distillers to Sapporo Holdings, Japan’s oldest beer brand.

Berry Bros. & Rudd’s chief executive Dan Jago said: “This is incredibly exciting news for Berry Bros. & Rudd. Not only has ADC experienced strong, profitable and consistent growth in revenue of more than 500% over the past few years.”

Lizzy Rudd, the new chairman of Berry Bros. & Rudd, added: “Both we and the team at ADC are incredibly excited about the opportunities this presents for Berry Bros. & Rudd in the United States.”

Dennis Carr, president and chief executive of Anchor Distilling Company, will continue in his existing role following the purchase.

Anchor Distilling Company’s range includes over 300 specialty products from more than 20 countries
