PUMA introduces augmented reality shoe

Sportswear brand PUMA has launched an augmented reality shoe called the LQD CELL Origin AR that allows users to play interactive games and bring the shoe to life with an app.

By downloading the PUMA LQD CELL app, users can scan the futuristic-looking silhouette to get filters and add fun effects to pictures and videos of the shoe. The app also features “LQDASH”, an augmented reality running game.

The shoe is the first in a line of footwear items using the brand new LQD CELL technology which offers superior cushioning by evolving PUMA’s classic CELL technology to make it more compact and malleable.

The brand has made a limited release of the LQD CELL Origin AR available on its website and through selected retailers worldwide.

Other products featuring the LQD CELL technology will be available throughout the summer and will also appear in high-performance training shoes this autumn.
