Joe Browns tops £110 million gross retail sales

Online and mail order retailer Joe Browns has seen its turnover rise by 17% in the first quarter of its financial year.

EBITDA has increased by 9% in the period. In addition, gross retail sales have risen by 10% to over £110 million in the 2016 financial year.

The fashion company has recently launched on the multi-platform retailer QVC and exceeded forecast by over 61% in September and over 89% in November. Within the live show, two lines performed at over £2,000 a minute, with one Jaquard Tunic taking over £3,000 a minute against a benchmark of £800 a minute.

The Leeds-based retailer, which was founded 18 years ago, attributed the results in part to a constant focus on performance-based marketing.

Joe Browns managing director Simon Brown said: “What sets us apart from the crowd are our distinctive, fun and flattering styles; different from anything else found on the high street. Our customers feel remarkable in our clothes and simply love wearing them day in day out.”

The company said that international development and product range extension will be two key elements of future growth.
