Carhartt Work In Progress launches new store at King’s Cross

Carhartt Work In Progress, a European evolution of American clothing brand Carhartt, has opened a new store on King’s Boulevard at London’s King’s Cross.

The 2,500 square foot store is the fourth retail outlet to open on the recently launched King’s Boulevard following openings by Nike and & Other Stories.

The shop will offer the brand’s range of contemporary clothing and accessories and will also stock a range of collaborative and special products available only at King’s Cross.

The store has been created by London-based design studio Faye Toogood. The space also features a custom-built coffee bar, operated in partnership with coffee roaster Allpress.

Annual footfall on King’s Boulevard is estimated to reach 18 million people by 2019 following the opening of the new Coal Drops Yard retail development in the autumn of next year. Coal Drops Yard will have 100,000 square feet available for up to 65 shops, a major restaurant and numerous cafes. The development will be housed in former industrial buildings that have been reinvented by Heatherwick Studio.

Craig White, project director at Argent, said: “It’s a delight to welcome Carhartt WIP as the latest retailer to open at King’s Cross, who bring their fresh approach to visual merchandising. This area is fast becoming one of the most exciting shopping districts in London and with the arrival of Coal Drops Yard less than one year away, King’s Cross continues to lead the way in offering national and international visitors an enhanced shopping experience.”
