Burrows & Hare and English Brands to open at Birmingham’s Mailbox

Menswear retailers Burrows & Hare and English Brands are to join the line-up at the Mailbox, Birmingham’s premium shopping and lifestyle destination.

Due to open in August, the English Brands store will stock a range of handmade leather shoes and boots as well as fashion brands such as Sanders, Loake, Gaziano & Girling, Cheaney and John White.

Michail Bolohs, founder and chief executive of English Brands, said: “We’ve been looking for the opportunity to bring our high-end products to the right location for some time, and the Mailbox’s aspirational mix of stores and restaurants seemed like the perfect fit – we truly see it as the ideal place for us to be situated in this wonderful city.”

Meanwhile, Burrows & Hare, which was shortlisted in this year’s Drapers Independent Awards Best New Retailer category, will offer a collection of premium clothing, grooming and lifestyle products for men from the likes of Sunspel, Oliver Spencer and A.B.C.L. The new store will open this autumn.

Azeem Ansari, director of Burrows & Hare, said: “Whilst Birmingham may be called the second city, we see it as the only place to be right now. With the broader investment and bigger companies looking at moving to the city, we couldn’t be happier to be joining at such an exciting time. We look forward to meeting our new customers at the Mailbox very soon.”

The stores will join a line-up that includes Emporio Armani, BOSS, Paul Smith and Harvey Nichols’ 45,000 square foot flagship store.

David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at the Mailbox, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming English Brands and Burrows & Hare to the Mailbox later this year. We’re confident their high quality products will resonate with our customers and perfectly complement our existing mix of high-end fashion retailers.”
