Burberry appoints Sam Fischer as non-executive director
Luxury brand Burberry has appointed Diageo’s Sam Fischer as a non-executive director.
Due to take up his position on 1 November, Fischer will also be a member of Burberry’s remuneration and nomination committees.
Fischer is currently president of the Greater China and Asia Pacific regions at Diageo and is also a member of the company’s global executive committee. He has worked with Diageo in senior roles since 2007 and prior to this held a number of commercial and general management positions at Colgate-Palmolive.
Gerry Murphy, Burberry chairman, said: “Sam’s experience and first-hand knowledge of leading iconic heritage premium brands will be a huge asset to Burberry as we grow our business in key Asian markets. We are delighted that he has accepted our invitation to join the Burberry board.”
