Dixons Carphone UK & Ireland CEO to leave business

Dixons Carphone’s UK and Ireland chief executive, Katie Bickerstaffe, is to leave the business to become chief executive designate at the new energy supply business recently announced by SSE and Innogy SE.

Bickerstaffe began her career with Dixons in 2008. Previous positions include managing director of Kwik Save and group retail director and HR director at Somerfield.

Alex Baldock, group chief executive of Dixons Carphone said: “On behalf of the board and all our colleagues, I would like to thank Katie for all she has done over the past 10 years for the UK and Ireland business. Katie’s dedication, passion and hard work has helped transform and strengthen the business into a market leader during a period of significant change.”

She will take up her new role later this year.

Commenting on her decision to leave, Bickerstaffe said: “I am incredibly proud of the group’s achievements over the last few years, laying the foundations for a great future. After ten wonderful years in the business, I feel it is the right time to move onto my next challenge.”
