House of Fraser opens new store at Rushden Lakes

House of Fraser has opened a new anchor store at the Rushden Lakes development in Northamptonshire.

The shop is the department store’s first new full bricks-and-mortar store in nearly a decade. It is also House of Fraser’s first green retail store certified to the BREEAM sustainable building standard.

Spanning 64,000 square feet, the architecture and store interior have been designed to connect with the natural setting of Rushden Lakes. Features includes a large living wall that is home to more than 2,000 plants, an art installation made entirely of recycled wire and featuring local bird species, and wallpaper which has been designed in partnership with The Wildlife Trust BCN.

The store’s beauty hall includes brands such as MAC, Chanel, Urban Decay, Nars, Dior and Bobbi Brown while the womenswear department offers fashion from Issa, Biba, Whistles, Coast, French Connection and more.

House of Fraser is also launching the Eden Champagne Bar, which overlooks the site’s lakes, and an in-store Caffe Nero on the ground floor.

In addition, sports brand Two Seasons has launched a new flagship store at Rushden Lakes which will sell a range of skate decks and skate shoes as well as clothes and accessories from the Element skate brand and Billabong.

Rushden Lakes has reported that nearly three quarters of tenant stores are now open, with Hobbs, River Island and Flying Tiger still to come.
