South African retail group Steinhoff has confirmed that Christo Wiese has stepped down as chairman of its supervisory board. The news follows Steinhoff’s recent announcement that it will need to reissue its financial statements for 2016.
Carpet and flooring retailer United Carpets saw its interim pre-tax profit drop to £589,000 from £640,000 in the same period in the previous year as the company invested in its online operations and its beds category.
