WH Smith expects full year results to meet market expectations

WH Smith has said that it expects its full year results to be in line with market expectations.
In a pre-close trading update, the book and stationery retailer reported that its travel business had continued to perform well and that its new store opening programme both in the UK and overseas was on track.
It also said that a focus on gross margin gains and tight cost control at its high street stores was helping the business to deliver a “good performance”.
WH Smith will announce its preliminary results for the year to end August on 16 October.
