Well appoints commercial director

Pharmacy chain Well has appointed David Hamilton as its new commercial director.

With experience across the UK healthcare sector, Hamilton has been hired to help shape the direction of the business which has recently rebranded as ‘Well’ from The Co-operative Pharmacy following its acquisition by Bestway Group last year.

Well said Hamilton will focus on creating a “compelling” customer proposition and developing new commercial opportunities with a community focus as the company looks to grow its revenues from £750 million to £1 billion by 2019.

His previous experience includes working as a community pharmacist and in the secondary and intermediate healthcare sectors with UDG, Bupa Home Healthcare and Medco Health Solutions.

John Nuttall, chief executive of Well, said: “This appointment underlines our focus on providing a proposition that responds to our customers’ healthcare needs and our aspirations to grow our business in new markets within the sector.

“David brings valuable knowledge and experience to the business and I am delighted that we are able to invest in strengthening our leadership team.”
