Q: When purchasing brands do you consider whether a company shares your values?

A: 68% admitted that they do not consider company values before purchases brands and many confessed to knowing of brands with poor ethnical standards but continuing to buy anyway.

Q: Do you have any loyalty cards? If so which ones and why?

A: Only one out of all of the respondents polled had no loyalty cards at all.

The majority had more than one card and the most popular were Boots Advantage Card (37%), the Nectar card (25%) and Tesco's club card (11%).

What stores offer the best in-store experience?

Q: Which stores offer the best in-store experience?

A: John Lewis was the outright winner with respondents due to the easy to navigate layout and the excellent customer service on offer. Respondents also like department stores that offer a little extra, like squirts of perfume that add to the shopping experience.

What are the benefits of online shopping?

Q: What are the benefits of shopping online?

A: Convenience was the run away winner with 87% including this in their answer. Obtaining items before they are released in shops was another big bonus, as well as locating products that they couldn't find in store.

A: Shopping for food and clothing items such as shoes and underwear, are how this age group like to spend their money

What could shops that you don't normally visit do to make you go inside?


Poll: Over 50s

Q: What could shops that do don't normally visit do to make you go inside?

A: Having a good sale or a attractive window display that shows clothes for older age groups could entice this demographic into new shops.
