UK Fashion Exports announces awards finalists

Awards recognise UK fashion brands
Judging has taken place to decide the finalists of the UK Fashion Export Awards
From a record number of entries, the finalists are diverse in both size and product.
Paul Alger, executive director of UK Fashion Exports, said: "This year*#*8217;s applicants have successfully maintained and even expanded their product offer while continuing to invest in marketing, including participation at overseas shows. As a result they have been able to buck the trend and grow their exports."
The shortlist - Accessories: Babette Wasserman, Duchamp Tashia
- Menswear: BMB Baracuta, Boxfresh, Mackintosh
- Intimate Apparel: Beau Bra, Jane Woolrich, Janet Reger
- Womenswear: Aftershock, Anoushka G and Boxfresh
In the newly-launched Microbusiness category, for firms with an annual turnover of below £250,000, Caramel Baby & Child, Quinton & Chadwick and William Sharp make it to the final three.
Figleaves.com, last year*#*8217;s winner of the E-tailer Award, is through to the finals again, along with Net-A-Porter.com and Ben Sherman.
The winners of the Designer and Childrenswear categories, along with the Gold Award, which is presented to a company which has shown consistent excellence in exporting, will also be revealed at the lunch, as will a new award, for Export Buyer of the Year, which will recognise an individual who has been instrumental in boosting British sales overseas.
The Awards, will be presented by HRH The Princess Royal, president of UK Fashion Exports. This year*#*8217;s prizes include £1,000 of consignments and free space at a number of trade exhibitions both in the UK and overseas, including Pure London and the prestigious Lyon Mode City in France.
