Other news in brief on Balmain and Tesco…

Luxury French fashion house Balmain has opened its first London flagship in Mayfair’s South Audley Street.

Designed by Joseph Dirand, the 220 square metre store has been created in the style of a Paris townhouse. Features include a glass entry framed in black lacquer and gold leaf.

Nick Lansley, the head of open innovation at Tesco Labs, has announced that he is to leave the supermarket after 27 years.

Lansley said in a blog post that Tesco had accepted his request for voluntary redundancy, adding that he would be taking a break over the summer before becoming an “innovation insider” to help businesses who want to start their own innovation teams.
