Other latest news in brief on BHS and Boxpark…

Sir Philip Green has sold the BHS department store chain to an investment vehicle called Retail Acquisitions.

Retail Acquisitions chairman Keith Smith said the purchase represented a “fantastic opportunity” to breathe new life into the iconic British high street brand.

He added: “We are convinced that with strategic and focused support we will return BHS to profitability, and safeguard the workforce.”

Pop-up shopping mall operator Boxpark has unveiled plans to open an 80 unit pop-up mall next to East Croydon station. The scheme will be on the site of an old coal merchant’s yard which has been derelict for over 30 years.
